ARTS 3350 Renaissance Art
A survey of art created during the 15th and 16th centuries. Renaissance artists created many of the works that pop into people’s minds when they think “art”. This course will examine how artists working in Northern and Southern Europe responded to each others’ styles. Students will also explore how new populations of art patrons emerged during the Renaissance, and how these new patrons affected the development of new themes in both religious and secular art. May not be repeated for credit.
