PT 748 Pediatrics and Development

Introduces principles of physical therapy practice applied to the pediatric population and develops clinical decision-making skills for the examination/evaluation process. Consists of evidence-based intervention strategies, including how to evaluate and implement use of adaptive equipment and orthotic devices. Considers practice of pediatric physical therapy in a variety of settings, such as the neonatal intensive care unit, educational settings, acute care, home care, and outpatient clinics. Explores the psychosocial aspects of care for infants and families as well as the role of the physical
therapist as part of an interdisciplinary health care team.
