ENG 30900 The English Novel

(GE-Lit) This course is a study of selected novels from the eighteenth century to the early twentieth century with attention to the development of the novel as a literary form and to its importance in the culture of its historical period. Also included is an account of the forerunners of the novel in the narrative tradition since the Homeric era.
