HA-631 Human-centered Communication: Mastering the Dynamics of Self, Team, and System

Prerequisite: HAH-630. This foundational course provides learners with the essential skills to optimize communication, including inspiring, influencing and motivating others, giving and receiving feedback, and having difficult conversations. Topics covered include understanding conflict styles, the neuroscience of conversations, leader as coach, strategies for surfacing cognitive biases and unrecognized assumptions, negotiation, and engaging in “learning conversations” - opportunities for mutual perspective-taking and development. Learners also receive tools for conducting professional discovery conversations (aka networking), creating their own personal advisory board and developing and promoting their professional, team and organizational brand.
