EDUC 511 INTRODUCTION TO AND FOUNDATIONS OF EDUCATION

An introduction on the nature and importance of the teaching profession, with discussion of current challenges and requirements for the profession. Variety of perspectives on education including historical, philosophical, social, legal, and ethical issues in a diverse society and background knowledge in organizational structure of schools. Criminal background check by the Washington State Patrol and fingerprinting by the FBI required. Practicum required. Corequisites: Instruction Core classes except EDUC 460/461, 470/471, 480/481
