AS 101, "Heritage and Values," allows students to examine general aspects of the Department of the Air Force, Air Force Leadership, Air Force benefits, and opportunities for Air Force officers.  The course lays the foundation for becoming an Airman by outlining our heritage and values.

This course is taken in conjunction with AS 101. It consists of a weekly laboratory including Air Force customs and courtesies, health and physical fitness, drill and ceremonies, leadership studies, leadership exercises, and Air Force officer career days.

This course is taken in conjunction with AS 102. It consists of a weekly laboratory including Air Force customs and courtesies, health and physical fitness, drill and ceremonies, leadership studies, leadership exercises, and Air Force officer career days. Course is graded P/NP.

This course is designed to provide a fundamental understanding of both leadership and team building. It is imperative that cadets are taught from the beginning that there are many layers to leadership, including aspects that don’t always jump to mind.  Such things include listening, understanding themselves, being a good follower and problem solving efficiently.

AS 301, "Leading People and Effective Communication," teaches cadets advanced skills and knowledge in leadership and communication. Special emphasis is placed on enhancing leadership skills. Cadets have an opportunity to try out these leadership and management techniques in a supervised environment as juniors and seniors.

AS 401 is designed for college seniors and gives them the foundation to understand their role as military officers in American society. It is an overview of the complex social and political issues facing the military profession and requires a measure of sophistication commensurate with the senior college level. Special topics of interest focus on the military as a profession, officership, military law, evaluations, and joint warfighting.

This course is taken in conjunction with AS 401. It provides the opportunity to use leadership skills in planning and conducting cadet activities while preparing students for commissioning and entry into the active-duty Air Force.
