Human Biology (Bachelor of Science)

The human biology major is for students who want to study humans from the biological and behavioral perspectives. In addition to gaining a strong foundation in the biological sciences, students may explore a variety of topics related to human biology. The curriculum includes courses commonly required by health professional schools and which target competencies that are desired by these professional programs.

Human biology majors will take courses to obtain an understanding of biological principles and to develop competencies desired by health professional programs, including thinking and reasoning, science, and professional competencies.

A student majoring in human biology must complete 49 quarter hours in the major, the required cognates, the general studies program, and all baccalaureate degree requirements as outlined in this bulletin. Biology and cognate requirements and electives must total at least 131 quarter hours.
