Curriculum Plan - SLP MS - Adult Neurogenic Communications Disorders Concentration

Current Curriculum Plan - Adult Neurogenic Communication Disorders Concentration

The concentration in adult neurogenic communication disorders explores themes related to the diagnosis, treatment, and education of people across the continuum of care affected by cognitive, language, and/or speech disorders due to acquired brain injuries (e.g. stroke, TBI) or neurodegenerative pathologies.  Students will demonstrate knowledge and critical thinking skills related to enhancing communication and life participation for these individuals as well as the ability to be an advocate and active member of an inter-professional team. 

 

Total Core Required Credits: 65

(Core courses must be taken for letter grade.)

Total Elective Credits required: 7

(Elective courses required for the concentration must be taken for a letter grade)

Minimum credits required for graduation: 72

 

If students have already completed an undergraduate course in Aural Rehabilitation they must take 2 more credits of electives to reach the total of 72 because they do not take CD 751 (Aural Rehabilitation).
