NS 520U Adult and Population Health II

Prerequisites: NS-500U, NS-501U, NS-502U, NS-503AU, NS-510U. This course is the second of three courses focusing on the nurse’s role in health promotion, disease prevention, and care for acute and chronic problems of diverse individuals and populations. Students will integrate scientific inquiry and evidence-based practice for adult and aging individuals and populations with acute and chronic problems. Students will continue to develop clinical judgment and integrate knowledge of patient care in acute and community settings. Emphasis will be placed on the influence of Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) in managing patient, family, and community responses to illness, hospitalization, and restoration of health.
