NS 545 Nursing Theory, Research, and Leadership

Prerequisites: Satisfactory completion of all 1st and 2nd semester courses or permission from program director. This course focuses on the contributions of nursing history, nursing theory, and contemporary issues to nursing practice. Students develop an understanding of the basic concepts of nursing research as a foundation for evidence-based practice. Principles of nursing leadership, management, quality, and informatics are explored in relation to innovation, social justice, and improvement of nursing care. Students will reflect on their future nursing practice and develop a personal nursing philosophy focused on their contributions to the profession.
