Inclement Weather

Prelicensure:
Students should make every reasonable effort to report to the clinical facility for all scheduled clinical hours unless instructed otherwise by clinical course faculty and/or preceptor. If travel to the facility is impossible, or if tardiness is unavoidable, the student is expected to contact the preceptor (NS 540), clinical faculty, clinical coordinator, and course faculty before the start of the scheduled clinical hours to report the absence or delayed arrival. Students must make the decision regarding travel in inclement weather and should communicate immediately with the course coordinator, clinical coordinator, and clinical instructor, and/or preceptor in case of clinical agency closure due to inclement weather. Students are responsible for making up any clinical time missed due to inclement weather.

Advanced Practice:

Students are expected to use their discretion regarding travel in inclement weather and should plan communication in advance with their clinical faculty, agency and/or preceptor in case of clinical agency closure due to inclement weather. Students are responsible for making up any clinical time missed due to inclement weather.NP

MS Leadership in Nursing Education and Doctor of Nursing Practice:

Clinical hours for online programs (MS in Leadership Nursing Education and DNP) are self-scheduled by students. The DNP program includes onsite intensives. In the event an onsite intensive weekend is planned during inclement weather, the activities will switch to online/virtual assignments. A back up virtual room will be assigned during the intensives for other situations which interfere with student’s attending in person sessions and can be used with faculty permission.
