STEM 300 Inquiry and Thinking in STEM for Teachers

This course is designed to promote active inquiry and exploration of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) content for teacher candidates. The main topics in this course are aligned with both national and state teaching and learning standards in math, science and technology and will increase teacher candidates’ knowledge and skills enabling them to participate in inquiry across the STEM domains through a variety of STEM investigations. Course content focuses on STEM learning, inquiry-based pedagogy, and the integration of informal education resources and technology. Relevant connections between math, science and technology content and teaching practices in the classroom will be explored and discussed. Pre-requisite(s): MTH 105, MTH 115, SCI101 & SCI102. Co-requisite(s): None. 5 quarter hours
