DNC - Dance
This course focuses on technical and expressive aspects of jazz dance with the development of line, speed, balance, and strength. Emphasis is placed on alignment, conditioning, musicality and learning combinations. May not be audited.

DNC 216 or instructor permission
This course includes the study of the basic principles of movement: space, time, effort. Emphasis on alignment and range of motion, creative movement, as well as an introduction of the basic principles of choreography: articulating a concept, movement vocabulary and development of structure of dance. May not be audited.

The course work is based on contemporary and classical styles of musical theater jazz dance with the focus on body isolations, syncopated rhythms, and improvisation. Historical and contemporary musical theater combinations and styles will be explored. May not be audited.

Continuation of Ballet I that includes intermediate level skills in barre and center exercises designed to develop coordination, balance, and strength for dance. May not be audited.

DNC 216 or instructor permission
This class is designed for the student who has had previous ballet training/experience. Advanced work at the barre as well as center floor will be included. Level III builds upon what was covered in Level II and is geared for the student with advanced ballet skills. May not be audited.
