LDR - Leadership
This course introduces students to the University of Portland Leader Certificate Program. During this course students explore what it means to be a leader using the Common Leadership Vocabulary, assess and understand their strengths, explore several leadership theories, and create a personalized leader development action plan. This one credit course is the experiental component of the University of Portland’s Leader Certificate Program. During this course a Dexheimer Leader Habit Coach guides each student along his or her journey consisting of three leader habit development opportunities. You will receive an IP (In-Progress) grade until the completion of all course requirements. Course is graded P/NP. Fee: $750

This one credit course focuses on building upon the framework of Hall Staff as educators, ministers, and professionals. During this course, through dialogue, reflection, and action, Resident Assistants explore what it means to be a leader and peer educator in the context of a residential community.

Seminar on special topics in global and intercultural learning. Required for sojourner scholars program. Course is graded P/NP.

This is the capstone course for the University of Portland's Leader Certificate Program. It is taken by students during their final semester in the program. During this course students will update their leader development plan, write a personal values statement, explore leadership outcomes and competencies in depth, and write a leadership philosophy.
