MUS 352 Vocal Literature

Prerequisite: MUA 326 (voice) or permission of instructor

Offered: Typically as student interest and faculty availability allow

A course to familiarize the student with the vocal forms, styles, and repertoire of Early English Baroque period; 18th-, 19th- and 20th-century Italian, French, German, British, and American art song literature; and sacred vocal literature. There will be comprehensive weekly listening and reading assignments and some singing. Four periods per week; one day will be a laboratory experience. 1 Course Credit
