MECH 260 AC/DC Motors and Controls Diagnosis and Repair
This course provides comprehensive instruction in the theory and application of single- and three-phase high and low voltage motors and the related control systems used in industrial environments. This course focuses on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electric motors, motor protections, and motor control devices and functions.

Course Objectives
- Explain the operating principles of single-phase and three-phase AC and DC motors used in industrial applications.
- Interpret ladder logic diagrams and electrical prints used for motor control and wiring installation.
- Apply approved safety practices when working with high- and low-voltage motor control systems.
- Connect and operate three-phase motors in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Install motor control components, wiring, terminal blocks, and grounding systems within electrical panels.
- Troubleshoot electric motors and motor control components to identify and correct system faults.
