CCD 696K Qualifying Paper

The qualifying paper marks a new phase of scholarly work that must meet a high standard before moving on to work on their proposal. In their qualifying paper, students work with a faculty advisor to write a conceptual paper that constructs their theoretical framework and intellectually prepares them for their dissertation. This phase requires students to work closely with their chair in an iterative process that will continue throughout the dissertation writing process. Students and chairs establish routines for ongoing feedback, revision, and dialogue.
