Introduction to probability as a modeling technique in mathematics and methods of teaching probability. Use of probability in decision making and inference. Simulation of experiments. Methods of enumeration. Laws of probability. Special probability distributions. Computer-assisted analysis. Also offered for undergraduate-level credit as Mth 481; with departmental approval may be repeated for credit.
Prerequisite
at least two upper-division courses approved for math major credit. Enrollment is limited to pre-service and in-service mathematics teachers or permission of instructor.
