NP 758 Transitions in Life and Health

Corequisites: NP-861A or NP-861B or NP-861C - Recommended to be taken at the same time as this course but is not required. Audit option is available. Pass/Fail option not available. Based on Meleis' theory of transitions, this course explores the dynamic interplay between chronic illnesses, multiple physical, psychological, social, and behavioral domains during major points of change along the health and illness continuum. The focus includes transitions frequently experienced by adult and geriatric clients that relate to their overall health; specifically covered are developmental, situational, health/illness, and end of life transitions. Emphasis is on the role of advanced practice nurse in assisting clients to successfully navigate these transitions.
