PHRM 699 IPPE-1 Community Practice

Introduces practical aspects of community pharmacy practice and prepares learners for practice of Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs). Integration of clinical, regulatory, and operational knowledge to safely and effectively dispense medications are demonstrated through the understanding of gathering information, evaluating a prescription, processing the prescription, filling the prescription, and counseling the patient. Learning activities to build foundational pharmacist proficiency include participation in inventory management, pharmacy operations, billing, regulatory compliance (e.g., BOP and DEA), compounding, self-care therapy, drug information, Comprehensive Medication Management (CMM), interprofessional communication, and immunization services.
