PHRM 703 Pharmacokinetics

Focuses on basic principles of biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetic aspects of drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion. The course begins by discussing the physiological and mathematical principles of pharmacokinetics including single-dose intravenous and oral kinetics, multiple dosing, nonlinear pharmacokinetics, then moves to the clinical applications and PK models of individualized drugs. The course also discusses special populations like kidney and liver dysfunction and the effect of age on PK.
