PHRM 706 Pharmacogenomics & Biotechnology

Provides foundational information to develop an understanding of pharmacogenomics and biotechnology. The genetic basis of variability in drug response can contribute to drug efficacy, toxicity, adverse reactions, and drug-drug interactions.  This course will explain how the individual genetic information can be used to tailor drugs to patients. The students will discuss of the rationale for biotechnology-driven products, the main methods used to deliver and target biological drugs, biotechnology product handling, storage, and administration.
