8.5 Documentation of the Complaint Process

The Program Director will be responsible for communicating the responses of the CSD leadership and faculty to the student in writing within one week after the meeting. A copy of all written communication between the advisor and the student will be placed in the CSD Complaint file.

Students have the right to submit complaints about non-academic aspects of the program, or the University itself, for consideration by the faculty and administration. The difference between an appeal and a complaint is that the Academic Advisor may choose not to advocate on behalf of the student submitting the complaint.

Also, complaints should not be confused with personal disputes or other incidents that affect a student’s ability to function in the program of study. These incidents should be reported directly to the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS)
