RES 405 Research Writing in Health Sciences
This course introduces foundational academic research and scholarly writing in the health sciences. Emphasizing evidence-based practice, students learn to locate, evaluate, and ethically integrate scientific literature. Key topics include APA formatting, critical reading, and synthesizing sources to construct thesis-driven arguments on healthcare issues. Students will draft research papers, annotated bibliographies, and literature reviews aligned with professional standards. Special attention is given to health disparities, cultural humility, and writing for diverse audiences in academic and clinical settings to ensure clear, impactful communication in the field.
