viii. Endowed Professorships

Endowed professors are appointed by the provost and approved by the board of trustees and are full, voting members of the faculty. Endowed professors are bound by the stipulations of appointment and responsibilities described in the documentation accompanying the donor’s gift. If not otherwise specified in such documentation, they are appointed without term of contract, have twelve-month annual appointments, and are evaluated on the responsibilities determined by the endowment and assigned by their academic unit leader. The regular faculty policies regarding evaluation, grievance procedures, and dismissal for gross neglect of responsibilities apply to endowed professors.
