This course examines the basic issues of global competition and international business. It studies the reasons for international trade and investment, and describes a framework for understanding the operations of a multinational corporation. Prerequisite: Junior standing.
This course focuses on developing the written communication skills required in business and other professional settings. Verbal communication is also a focus of the course. Reflection of communication context and purpose, development of required content, satisfying genre and disciplinary conventions, and the professional handling of sources and mechanics will all be included. This course focuses on the dramatic impact that culture has on business, commerce, and trade practices in organizations across the globe. Cultural immersion will be utilized in the course for practical comparison purposes. Prerequisite: BMGT 3310.
