LAS 105 Introduction to Sociology

This course introduces students to concepts and theories of sociology with a focus on how social structures shape social life. The course explores core themes in the discipline, general social issues which sociologists have studied, and methods in applying a sociological imagination. Students examine micro and macro perspectives of culture, social structure, stratification, race/ethnicity, gender, class, and sexuality. Pre-requisite(s): None.
