MTH 420 Discrete Mathematics

This course provides students with an introduction to discrete mathematics. Topics discussed emphasize a foundation in mathematical proof and problem solving through logic, proof by induction, counting, factorials, and binomial coefficients. Other topics include discrete probability, random variables, expected value, variance, rates of growth and basic number theory and combinatorics. Pre-requisite(s): MTH 103.
