This course provides students with a foundation that allows them to apply concepts of linear algebra to real world application, including vector geometry, systems of linear equations, vector spaces, matrices, determinants, inverses, and eigenvalues. This course provides students with an introduction to discrete mathematics. Topics discussed emphasize a foundation in mathematical proof and problem solving through logic, proof by induction, counting, factorials, and binomial coefficients. Other topics include discrete probability, random variables, expected value, variance, rates of growth and basic number theory and combinatorics. Pre-requisite(s): MTH 103.
