PA 531 Professionalism in Medicine II with Lab

Examines PA professional practice including personal wellness, medical ethics, public health, and patient safety. Understanding and practicing, personal wellness and recognizing and preventing clinician impairment and burnout, implicit bias, codes of medical ethics, and case-based ethical decision making, violence identification and prevention, prevention of medical errors, quality improvement and risk management are explored in depth. The lab integrates the practical application of the theoretical knowledge learned in the course. The course delivery methods for teaching and learning include web-based resources, discussion board, collaborative learning, professionalism, and a signature assignment.
