PA-824 Psychiatry Clerkship

Prerequisites: Successful completion of all first-year courses and any previous clerkships. The psychiatry clerkship is a required five-week clinical experience in the care of patients with acute and chronic mental illness incorporating the medical, physiological, behavioral and psychosocial issues common to the practice of psychiatry. Students will have the opportunity to apply and expand their knowledge and skills in the evaluation and management of common psychiatric conditions. Students will learn under the supervision of a program-determined preceptor and his or her designee(s).
