SPAN415 Spanish Translation and Editing Skills

This course provides intensive practice in translating texts from English into Spanish primarily, and from Spanish into English. Students refine their skills in manipulating the Spanish language and gain insight into how to identify, analyze and resolve translation problems. They also practice editing skills in Spanish. Text selection includes a wide range of topics, such as business, finance, health and social issues. In this advanced-level course, all teaching and class discussions are in Spanish. Some readings, written work and testing are in English. Prerequisite(s): SPAN320, SPAN325, and SPAN410, or consent of the department. Counts in the Humanities Area of General Education Requirements. 5 quarter hours
