SEC592C Secondary Education Alternative Certification: Internship for Mathematics

This seminar is required for alternatively certified teachers. This internship offers opportunities to develop and refine teaching skills in a secondary school. The seminar provides the student-practitioners an opportunity to describe and reflect upon their knowledge, skills, and dispositions for teaching; to evaluate and integrate theory and practice; to examine implications of practice for themselves, students and community in mathematics. Students enroll in seminar for three semester hours for three consecutive terms (for a total of nine semester hours) during their first year of teaching. Grades are given for each term. Prerequisite(s): The student-practitioner must be working as an alternatively certified secondary school teacher through National Louis University. 3 semester hours. May be repeated twice up to 9 semester hours.
