TIE546 Telecommunications in the Schools: Advanced Topics

This course deals with advanced topics as students continue to examine the ways telecommunications can be utilized in education. Students will understand the technical considerations of connectivity and differentiate types of telecommunication connections. Students will further explore and use a wider variety of Internet services, such as Internet Relay Chat, video conferencing and Use net groups. Issues of publishing content on the World Wide Web will be addressed. Students will also plan and implement instructional activities that integrate telecommunications into the curriculum, as well as plan and implement staff development programs. Students will seek out information concerning grants and funding for school telecommunication projects. Prerequisites: TIE500 and TIE542. 2 semester hours
