ACL548 Community Literacy and Adult Education

Literacy for the community and families within that community has played a major role in adult education throughout history. This course will explore the historical roots of community literacy programs, examine theories of the political and social implications of literacy development, and present some practical strategies for working in an adult literacy setting. Prerequisite(s): ACL540 Introduction to Adult Education or permission of the program director. 3 semester hours
